The language travel industry is an extremely exciting growth sector, and it is showing no signs of slowing down. The globalisation and advancement in technology we have seen gathering pace in modern times have driven a need, and a desire, for connectedness amongst the world’s people. That connectedness needs a language, and English has taken the front seat.
EC offers superior English language programmes in the top English-speaking destinations around the world, together with French in Montreal. Passionate commitment to developing the products, relationships and people has seen the organisation grow and strengthen to now operate in 21 destinations, in five countries, on three continents.
EC carefully selects only the most vibrant English-speaking destinations as homes for its schools, and also settles for nothing less than the very best location in every one.
EC Central is the hub of all activities, though the School increasingly relies on regional bases as it expands in North America and beyond. The majority of the Executive team members are based on the island, as well as the Finance, Sales, Marketing, e-Business, Admissions, IT and administrative teams.
Starting life in 1991 as the ‘European Centre of English Language Studies’, EC Malta is still the largest school. For those seeking sunshine, a taste of Mediterranean culture or a cheaper alternative to other language learning destinations, Malta has wide appeal.
EC has defined its purpose as helping students succeed in a global community. This describes its reason for being and the impact it wants to have on the world. Across countries, timezones, and throughout all sections of the organisation, this simple statement inspires and focuses the team.
The DNA of EC’s organisation is comprised of four core values, which are at the heart of everything it does:
- We go the extra mile
- We deliver what we promise
- We have a can-do mind set
- We love what we do
2004 – EC was awarded the Entrepreneurship Award in the Small Enterprise Growth Category by Malta Enterprise.
2009 – 2010 – EC was recognised with the title: STM Star Innovation
2011 – The company was crowned with the most coveted title: STM Star Chain School.
No of Employees: There are approximately 346 employees working for EC in Malta during summer.
